Founded in 1996, L.T.Calcoli specializes in numerical analysis services focused on the assessment, enhancement, and optimization of simple and complex system designs. Most of the numerical technologies we adopt are based on the Finite Element Method (FEM). We provide expert Thermal FEM Analysis and Thermo-Structural FEM Analysis services.
Heat Transfer Simulation
Our expertise covers a broad range of simulations, with a particular focus on Thermal Analysis and Transient Heat Transfer Analysis. The primary objective of these activities is to accurately determine temperature distribution (measured in °C) within components.
Managing Extreme Thermal Loads
We are equipped to perform heat transfer analyses under complex thermal loads, typically encountered in high-energy environments:
• Neutron heat deposition: We carry out transient heat-transfer analysis under neutron heat deposition effects.
• Plasma heat flux: We perform transient heat-transfer analysis in response to plasma-generated heat flux.
Thermo-Structural Integration
Our capabilities extend to integrated analyses, which are essential for thermo-structural system evaluations. Thermal FEM Analysis is closely linked to Thermo-Structural Analysis, where thermal deformation caused by neutron heat deposition or plasma heat flux is incorporated into static and dynamic elastic analyses to assess structural response.
Applications in Nuclear Fusion Engineering
L.T.Calcoli has a solid track record in nuclear fusion engineering, delivering detailed thermal and thermo-mechanical FEM analyses for reactor components such as ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor), IGNITOR, and DEMO. Thermal assessments have been performed on critical components including ITER Blanket Modules and the Divertor.
